With so much violence in the world, we naturally want to put a stop to the pain and hostility. We want to end it "out there," but first, it must stop inside ourselves. We must be responsible for ending violence in our thinking, which shows up in attack, blame, accusation, judgment, or withholding love. The practice is to notice sooner when these thoughts and feelings arise. And then follow the teachings of Jesus, who advised: Attend to the rift at once. In private. And with a heart of reconciliation.
