When we contemplate the facts of our lives, from what point of view are we seeing them? Einstein said, "The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the level of thinking that created the problems." We've been trained to get attached to a situation and think the place to solve it is out in the world. Instead, we can look to the conditions of thought that brought about the situation and begin to shift internally, as well as work with the form, so that the shift can be sustainable.
