Trust happens when we let go. And until we let go completely, we're not in trust. Sometimes we invite God to come a little way into our lives and maybe give us a idea about something particular we're troubled about, but once that's over, we think, "I'll manage the rest myself." But we're not really in partnership with God without letting go, so we never really receive the gifts. The feeling of God's Presence is intermittent. The sense of God's guidance is occasional. And the change that we deeply want, to be the full expression of who we long to be, never gets a chance to blossom.
