Time-lapse photography has allowed us to glimpse the unfolding of flowers and embryos and galaxies. If we were able to view the sense of self in a similar way, we would be able to glimpse also the external deconstruction and reconstruction of the sense of self in ever-moving, sequential, and beautiful patterns of unfolding. We do not yet have a good vantage point on ourselves.
