There's a story about a wealthy fellow who goes to a Zen monastery seeking the secret to life. But instead of listening to the Master, the fellow does nothing but speak of his accomplishments. The Zen Master pours the man a cup of tea as he continues his monologue. Suddenly, the man looks down, and sees his teacup overflowing onto the saucer and down the table. "What's wrong with you?" he bellows at the Zen Master. "The tea is overflowing all over the place!" The Zen Master responded: "The secret of life is having some emptiness so that the Universe can give you its gift." The man was so full of himself, that he had no room for God. Have you created space for a miracle to occur? If our cup is always full, what can be poured into it?
