The red horse of the Apocalypse is the one that "is granted to take peace from the earth and that people should kill one another." The red horse is our emotional nature, and if we give it full rein and act only from our feelings of passion, we can be instruments of great destruction. We are meant to notice and experience our emotions, to enjoy and feel them but we're not meant to attach to them or let them lead us.
