Ram Dass used to say, If you want to know how spiritual you've become, just go visit your family. Notice yourself in this experience. Particularly with adult siblings, it often doesn't take very long until we fall back into the pattern of our youth, a pattern that may have little room for love. Being with family is a great opportunity for us to practice and finding God's gift for us. Let family be the place where you are renewed and strengthened, and where you offer that gift to others.
