New Thought teaches that there is no separation between God and ourselves. The only separation exists in our minds, in our beliefs. We are in God and God is in us. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote: "Jesus Christ belonged to the true race of prophets. He saw with open eyes the mystery of the soul ... He saw that God incarnates himself in man and evermore goes forth anew to take possession of this world ... He declared he was God; thus He is, and as I think, the only soul in history who has appreciated the worth of man."
