In the story of David and Goliath, David, a small shepherd boy, was bringing food to his brothers who were soldiers and heard Goliath mock the army of his people and volunteered to Saul, saying: "Let no man's heart fail because of him, because of that giant. Your servant, I, will go and fight this Philistine." But the king brushed off David - how could a mere kid take on a massive warrior? Saul dismissed help that didn't reconcile with his own logic. We've all done the same thing, refused a sign or signal, turned away from guidance, or assistance, because it didn't make sense at the time. But remember this truth: If we already knew the answer to our problem, we would already have solved it. Faith calls on us to trust that which lies beyond our current understanding.
