In the biblical story, when King Saul finally allowed the David to take on the behemoth Goliath, he outfitted the young shepherd with a helmet, armor and a sword. David was going into battle and therefore given tools that appeared to fit the circumstance. We, too, tend to take on our Goliaths by following protocol. But if you do things the way you've always done them, you'll get the results you've always gotten. There is always another way. David, for instance, didn't feel supported by armor; he felt weighted down and chose instead to rely on himself and his Creator. Remind yourself: There is no problem confronting me that can begin to match the awesome power that is God.
