A number of years ago, I read an article about a well-intended man who gently cut open a cocoon in order to help the struggling butterfly inside emerge. Only, the butterfly died instead. As the man later learned, the butterfly's survival hinges on its struggle to emerge. The process of breaking through strengthens the small creature's wings. As humans, we go through a similar process: we struggle, release and transform. But some people would rather remain caterpillars. Know that God has bigger plans for us. Like the caterpillar, we are born to soar.
